Be aware that the base Tiguan does not accelerate smoothly & quickly. The Tiguan 'short-shifts' to improve fuel economy. This does not allow for quick, smooth acceleration. The fresh-air system appears to heat the air before it enters the cabin even though the temperature dial is set to the coldest setting. The safety feature that prevents you from opening the door (to check for vehicle parking alignment) without engaging the emergency brake is annoying. Not having a CD player in the vehicle is annoying.

The one annying issue we have with this vehicel is the robotic sound of the navigation system and that it translates CT to "Court". Since we live in Connecticut which is abbreviated with CT, the state routes are spoken incorrectly by the navigation system. Not a huge thing but very annoying and shows a miss on attention to detail.

Great car ! Would have liked different engine options and ability to select options instead of having to go up in trim. Also should make 3rd row free on AWD since you already charge for the AWD.
