Haven’t had it long enough to try out the 4wd but so far am happy with the 4Runner TRD PRO. My earlier comment about not buying another one is that due to my age, this one is going to outlast me, not because I am unhappy with it.
cons
Not necessarily dislike, but wish it had better gas mileage, it also has quite a bit of engine noise at highway speed.

Have owned a 4 Runner since 2007. Reliability, safety, quality product. Very impressed with the road handling so far. Interior space is increased too. Noticeable headroom increase. Makes sense that 2022 is ‘taller’ than the old model. But in/out access required running boards for someone 5’4”. They were not standard equipment, had to have them installed.
cons
Only complaint is door mechanics. Locking and window mechanisms are mounted on the top of the door panel at the window edge. Too high. Door closure more like a truck requiring a hard close.
