I have 3 children and the seats that fold down are automatic and they were almost crushed because the button was accidentally pushed to fold the seats and I had to stop the seats myself versus the seats crushing my kids. Luckily, I got there it time.

Very spacious, comfortable, great ride, handles excellent, lots of great features. I want to love the car but then all these other things get in the way! (see below) This is our fourth GL/GLS, we've owned them since the launch. A lot of improvements were made in this latest generation, but a lot of things that weren't broken have been broken!

The controls and displays are like a cheap video game highly complicated and seriously distract from driving and turn this from an ideal vehicle to a huge disappointment. It makes no sense that Mercedes incorporates all these safety features and then puts in a control system that seriously distracts the driver trying to carry out basic functions. The hyped voice assistant is next to useless. At 5 days old multiple electronic systems failed and the car was in the shop for 5 days trying to rectify the problems they claim were all software. The seating materials and wood trims have really declined in Mercedes vehicles unless you pay a lot extra to upgrade them in a car that already costs $85k for this one, and those upgraded materials arent available in many spec ordered vehicles so unless you order your own and wait many months you cant get them. The 6 cylinder engine performs reasonably well for the size vehicle and engine noise inside is minimal, but stand next to the vehicle outside and the engine sounds like a rattling go kart engine, not as bad as the 4 cyl in my GLC but it does not endear you to the car at all.
