The automatic start/stop feature doesn't work properly. It is always inconsistent in operation. There should be an option to turn it off, rather than have to upon each start up. The voice controls do not work well. Many times, I have to manually type in the destination or phone number I am trying to reach. The automatic liftgate sensor doesn't seem to work properly. Many passes under the bumper have to be made to open the liftgate. Locking the car from the interior prior to all doors being shut would also be a nice added feature. Having to wait for all passengers to exit the vehicle before exiting the car to lock it (besides using the key, which is usually stowed in a purse) is bothersome. The MPG was noted as 20 mpg. Volvo has failed to come close to this estimate, which was one of the reasons I purchased this car.

With all the safety features, lane guidance, cross traffic etc... it would be nice to have a button for car wash...so that you don't have to shut down all the safety features individually.

It would be nice to have a car wash setting so that it shuts off all of the necessary safety features; it would be nice to have illuminated headlight and wiper buttons; provide the ability to shut off the auto stop feature until the consumer resets it, not after each time it is started and finally, have the ability that when you open the drivers door, it unlocks all the doors.

would love a manual sun shade for the sun roof button for car wash so you don't have to shut off all of the safety features, cameras etc... change holder reset the seat and steering wheel heaters after vehicle is shut off...don't leave them on adjust the sensitivity of the cruise control so that it does not slam on the brakes when changing lanes.

My XC90 has A LOT of rattles. One in the rear seat. Another is the hatch itself. And a small rattle in the driver door. It also has issues with SENSUS resetting. Lots of little things for a new model that should not have such issues. Hoping there aren't any other problems.

This car is a disaster - top to bottom. It has rattles everywhere and the electronics system is a joke. I've had an airbag warning light to deal with. And now I have a safe mode driving. It will not go over 10mph and the digital instrument cluster is blank. The car is terrible. The electronics are 2nd rate at best and the rattles are unfixable. They've tried at the service dept and failed. The safe drive mode is the latest problem and it's in the shop right now for that. Who knows when I will get the SUV back. It's already been in the shop 5 days - it's barely 2 months old.

The Volvo XC90 looks great inside and out. The first year has its issues. I've had it in the shop 3 times for various problems. Rattles in lots of places -- including the rear hatch. Replaced part of the sunroof because rubber fell off and you cannot just replace the rubber part. Airbag light issue. Aside from that -- I've grown to really like the SUV. It is built like a tank but drives like a car. VERY easy to maneuver. Great options. Power in the T5 is more than adequate. Not sure it's as refined as I'd truly like a near luxury or luxury SUV like Volvo wants to be. BUT you cannot beat the mileage. Very good for a heavy SUV. The sales experience was - OK. I didn't feel special in any way like you feel at a BMW or Lexus dealer. Volvo wants to be considered a LUXURY line.
