Besides being FUN to drive, the Mini Countryman IS bigger on the inside. I'm 6.1', 300+ lbs and I fit inside comfortably. Driver side is plenty of room. Passenger side has lots of room as well. I can stretch out my legs with no problem or restrictions. Taking a long trip 4-5 hours at a time is no problem. Acceleration is awesome. Climbing hills are no problem for this car. And the Cruise control is a must to experience. Getting into any parking space is a breeze. The center console provides tons of information about the vehicle, has a fast response, navigation is great, Apple Play is fast and a pleasure to use compared to other vehicles I've had or tried. And there is even an APP for the car that tells you vehicle status, if windows and or doors are open or closed, miles driven from last time in car. You can even locate the vehicle with the app if you can't find your car in a parking lot. Besides the fun factor, the car makes you happy. Checking a certain status on the center console for the car will have an image of the car come on screen wearing sunglasses. When you leave the car, the display behind the steering wheel will show the front of a Mini Cooper with a headlight winking at you as if to say, "Goodbye, see you next time". Little things like that are all through the car. Fun to drive and it makes me happy. What more can you ask for.

Plug it in! Forget the EPA gas mileage. I average 48 mpg. With the rebates available it costs no more than the Countryman S, gets nearly double the gas mileage, has more power and still drives and handles like a MINI. Warning, the sport seats may be too snug for a big butt. As with all EVs, battery mileage is reduced when using electric heat. Preheat the car while it's plugged in. I'm looking forward to a future MINI EV. Would like to have a simple one-click app that would remotely pre-heat/cool on command while car is plugged in.
