More About the 2017 Lincoln MKZ

Lincoln MKZ Overview

The Lincoln MKZ is considered to be an entry-level luxury vehicle in the mid-sized class, and was the first of the many Lincoln vehicles that have names starting with, “MK.” For the last five years, the Lincoln MKZ has topped the brands’ sales and is now entering its second generation after launching in the 2006 model year and staying in the first generation through last year. Lincoln built the MKZ to target younger luxury car purchasers and designed the first generation with smooth lines despite a bit of a boxy build. The second generation has more rounded styling cues toward the front of the vehicle, with a rear end that resembles a fast back design despite being a four-door vehicle. The Lincoln MKZ is built of the platform of the Ford Fusion, and one thing that the second generation will seek to do better than the first is to make more refined and noticeable improvements upon the Fusion it is based upon. One problem, though, is that many of its luxury features are available as upgrades on the cheaper Fusion. That’s good news for Fusion buyers, but hurts Lincoln’s ability to set the MKZ apart. Some of the primary competitors of the Lincoln MKZ include the Chrysler 300, Lexus ES 350, Infiniti G37 Sedan and the Acura TSX. The Lincoln MKZ has seen its sales bounce back in the last two years after a bit of a lull in 2009 and 2010. It’s also seen the percentage of hybrids sold under its badge grow from five percent in 2010 to more than 21 percent in 2012.

Refine technology, reduce climate system noise, improve feeling of solid construction - some things feel less than solid.

To consider the leading car rival trio.. bmw, mercedes, and audi. They pay close attention to every detail in the interior from door chimes, turn signal, bells and chimes and especially fit and finish along with durability. Quality control should should me a priority, it may sound minor but plays a big part.
