I absolutely love my new 2015 Ford Focus. I think it stands out from the crowd in sporty styling and quality of build both inside and out. It balances engine performance with fuel efficiency very nicely. It is on the cozy side, but extremely comfortable with no sharp edges or pieces of trim poking into me. You'd be surprised the number of cars that you sit in and find you cannot rest your leg against the door or center console without something digging into you. The hatchback design coupled with the fold-flat rear seats give it added utility over a standard sedan.

I truly love my Ford Focus hatchback. It is very sharp, very fuel efficient but still powerful, very modern looking inside and out, and very comfortable. It reflects my style and personality as a compromise between style and practicality. Thus far I have had two minor issues with it. One, the rear backup camera (a standard option thank you Ford), is mounted slightly askew. I only noticed after failing to park straight when using the camera solely to align myself. The dealership said it would require complete disassembly of rear hatch to fix, which they were willing to do, but I declined as it is such a minor flaw. Second, the Sync system has once each month, almost to the day randomly decided to boot by phone off of bluetooth and then freeze up and not allow pairing, and requiring battery disconnection to reset. After three times of this, I have updated the Sync system to the newest programming and have yet to experience the problem again. For as long as the Sync system has been around and ubiquitous as Bluetooth technology has become, this seems like something that should not happen. Those problems aside, I think Ford has elevated the Focus to its highest level yet. Things I would change or add as options: the cruise control module would serve me better on the right side of the steering wheel as opposed to the left (maybe just me), the key fob allows for remote unlocking and unlatching of the rear hatch, but assisted opening would be very nice (perhaps a higher option than I bought), and the fold-flat rear seats could benefit from head rests that fold away rather than necessitate removal to facilitate the folding. Really all minor things.

All around it is an exceptional vehicle for the price. It balances power and acceleration with fuel mileage, and actually achieves its advertised mileage. The steering and gas and brake pedals are very natural and responsive. The engine and transmission are smooth operating, although on occasion during slow acceleration the transmission seems to hesitate for a second almost as if trying to decide when and if to shift. I am very confident this vehicle will be reliable for years to come. The fit and finish of both the interior and exterior are very well done. I enjoy the sporty image of car. After 6 months of daily driving, I have zero disappointments. The only problem I have had was initially the Sync system would suddenly reject my phone's bluetooth connection and the Sync system would freeze. Even a master Sync reset would not solve the problem. Only disconnecting the battery would reset the system. After three times, I spent the time to update the Sync software to the latest version (which seemed to take an excessive time at nearly an hour), but I have not had any issues since. I think Ford currently has one of the strongest lineups of any vehicle manufacturer both in terms of mechanical reliability and vehicle appearance. No matter what vehicle class I was looking to buy, a Ford vehicle would certainly be among my short list of options being considered. I hope they continue in their current direction.
