Apple CarPlay is unreliable and can cause malfunctions on your mobile phone and idrive. I've had at least five unique software crash events so far. Sometimes CarPlay just won't initialize. I've had all audio functions be unavailable because CarPlay is in limbo. The sat radio wouldn't load, music I had stored on the built in hard drive wouldn't load. Only AM/FM. Also, if you leave the vehicle while running, CarPlay can't handle it. I've tried leaving keys and phone in the car and CarPlay still glitches out. Please advise BMW to work on CarPlay. In retrospect I would not have opted for CarPlay. I would give 1 out of 5 stars.

Love the technology, especially night vision/warning. Also adaptive cruise. Seat ventilation, not so great, I wouldn't spend the money for that next time.
